New Years Eve party wear inspo and my 2019 resolutions

Christmas Eve is now behind us and what a wonderful Eve it was! Lot’s of laughter, food and great company! Oh! And thank you to all of you who wished me a Merry Christmas as well! It was so lovely to see such a big outpouring of love. It made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside so thank you so much for that and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!

As I mentioned briefly on Twitter and Youtube, I’ve been taking a quick break over the holidays to recharge and spend time with family. I now feel much better prepared to tackle the end of the year and lo and behold, it’s just around the corner! It’s time to look back and reflect on what has happened as well as look forward and move on towards all of the new and exciting things 2019 will bring with it. In my case, 2019 will be an almost completely fresh start. I’m starting school again in the New Year which is very exciting and something I’ve been looking forward to. I think it will be a nice change of pace and I’m hoping it will become a gateway for more opportunities in the future.

In any case, it’s almost New Year’s Eve and I’m positive that 2019 will be a better year for me than 2018 was and so, I’ve written down my new and improved resolutions for the New Year AND I’ve thrown in a little New Years Eve party wear inspo into the mix as well! So let’s get started!

2We’ll start with shirts and blouses. Sequins, glitter and glam are always a solid go-to and a winner every year.  That’s why I picked out a few different options that range from pure gold sequins, to a lovely satin blouse.  All good options for an evening out! A little sparkle never hurt nobody and if you pair it with a sleek pair of jeans or high wasted suit pants you’ll razzle-dazzle your way into the New Year with ease!

3Pantsuits are another good option for New Year’s Eve. You don’t have to worry as much about mixing and matching and they can be used many times afterwards! Personally, I think I’ll be wearing a pantsuit for New Years. It’s easy, it’s stylish and you can always spruce it up with some bold accessories and a nice pair of heels or boots and your evening is set!

Since it’s winter, a good party boot is essential. You can, of course, choose to wear heels as well but I personally prefer boots as they are more comfortable and easier to walk in. Besides, a western style boot is very in this year and would go well with most, if not all, party outfits! A sleek leopard pattern boot is also a good way to show others that you are ready to leap into the New Year in style!

4Clutches and bags are a great accessory to help you add a little extra bling into your wardrobe. They’re also essential to carry all your table-bombs and confetti in!
A stylish handbag can lift your outfit to new heights and I personally really like the festive Becksondergaard bags. The diamond pattern is very elegant and vintage. A perfect companion to your New Years Eve party!

Before I end this post I want to write down and share my New Years resolutions with you. I would also love to hear you guys’ resolutions as well and whether or not they have changed since last year. Mine haven’t changed much but they are still relevant in some way or form so I guess it’s alright to re-write them?
In any case, here they are:

  • Take more chances.
This one is important to me since I have a habit of over-thinking things and usually prevents me from trying new things. I don’t want to hold myself back anymore and so I want to work on jumping at more chances and opportunities and not worry too much about the outcome of them.
  • Take more pictures.
This has been on my resolutions list since the start of the year. I want to take more and better pictures and of everything. I won’t necessarily upload all of them but I want to have them at least.
  • Stop worrying about the little things.
This sort of connects to the first one I wrote and it’s something which has followed me for a long time. I always worry and sometimes it’s about the most mundane things you could possibly imagine. It’s a big waste of time and I would love if I could do less of it in the New Year.
  • Start working out again (and find a sustainable rhythm that keeps me healthy while still having time for other things.)
It’s a New Years resolution, what did you expect? Of course, there is going to be something about my health! It’s mostly about staying active though and not as much about losing weight. I just do so much sedentary work that I need to balance it out with something and my hope is to find that in 2019.
  • Work hard and achieve what I set out to achieve.
This is pretty self-explanatory but as I mentioned, I start school again next year and so I want to work hard and do well. I know it’ll be difficult at times but I really do want to do as much as I possibly can to study and work hard to achieve my dreams.

Some resolutions I have are to just enjoy the year. 2018 went by so fast and I wanna make 2019 last and make it my own, without extra stress bogging me down. I want to try and spend a little less time on my phone, mostly by coloring a lot of cool stuff as it’s relaxing for me. I really want to get back to the story I’m writing as well.

Let’s punch 2019 in the face and make it our own! Best of luck in 2019 Signe!

Those are great reaolutions! I think I might try the whole “not be on your phone 24hours a day” thing too if I can. It would definitely be a welcome change!
      Hope 2019 treats you well!

Hi Signe! Glad you had a great warm Christmas. I love the inspirational outfits. I’m wearing a long dress, but that’s cause I’m celebrating with family and it’s really comfy. I agree with the resolutions. They feel reachable 😉 I did try new more new things last year and this year cause it went so well this year. So I do reccomend it, from trying a different coffee to a new hobby. Hope you have a great end of the year! Lots of love!

I can definitely can relate and support your resolutions, but I decided to add some to the mix for myself:
    -Procrastinate less
    -Work harder in school
-Get out of my comfort zone
I’m glad you had a great holiday with your family and friends, and I hope you have a fantastic New Year as well!

    Have a great day!

I’m so glad to hear that you had a good Christmas, Signe! I personally had a lovely holiday as well. I went to a Christmas party and while there were lots of people there, the only person I wanted to be around was BJ, a great big fluffy Berniece Mountain Dog!

As for my New Year’s Resolutions, I honestly don’t have any for 2019. I think I might just take life as it comes. Graduating high school is definitely a goal though—I’ve got six months left until graduation!! And after that I plan to hopefully make a big move to Alberta, Canada to live with my Auntie! Which will be a HUGE change for me as I will be roughly 4,000km from my home on the east of Canada.

Anyways, I hope you have a lovely start to your 2019 and I look forward to seeing what you get up to! 🙂

Awesome post wiishu! What are you going to be studying at school? I’m glad to announce that I consider myself pretty good at one of your resolutions – taking up opportunities! I run out of time, but I try and do everything. I figure if I’m going to live a life at all may as well make it a good one.

Glad you had a great Christmas <3 That's some great new year resolutions! I haven't had any these last years but this year I'll try to work out more, eat healthier, work on my sleeping schedule and just take better care of my body in general to feel better and now I'm gonna add "Take more pictures" to the list as well, it's always nice to have something to look back at 🙂

Happy New Years (almost), Signe! Once again, I love the style advice for the new year, even if I’m going to loaf around in my pjs and watch movies with my family.

As for resolutions, I actually made 19 goals for 2019. I won’t outline them all here, but some of it is health, like drinking water; some is school, like staying ahead of my work; and some is mental health, like doing art and reading. The biggest one I have is actually the same as yours: stop not doing things. I want to take cool opportunities and put myself out there more.

I’ve been motivated by people like you to work on improving myself and doing things to make me happier and healthier. Thank you so much for being a big inspiration in 2018 and I hope all this energy we carry for 2019 helps us to achieve our goals and have an awesome year. I can’t wait to see what 2019 brings for you and I’m excited to join you on the journey.

It’s so great to see you so determined to have a better year and look to the future! I know you’ll do great things! I have an online class next semester because I’m too ill to go to school personally, but reading your blog improves my mentality about it! Much love and best wishes into the New Year, Signe!

This is great, I’m proud of you for going back to school! Personally I just don’t have any resolutions lol

  • wiishu

That sounds awesome! Good luck with it all!
I definitely feel you about art and drawing stuff. I want to improve as well in the new year and take more time with it. Hopefully we can do it!

  • wiishu

Well hopefully, like I wrote in the post, it can open a door to more opportunities in the future. I just want to learn what this course has to offer me fx. Coding websites and working with different types of programs. I don’t have a solid plan as of yet but this is some of what I’m hoping for so far!
