Give it to me simple – 3 skincare products I’ve been loving

I’m not much of a skin care person in general. Truthfully, if I could get away with just a splash of water in the mornings and evenings, I would be thrilled but as it turns out, there is a lot of work behind nice skin and over the years I have realized how important it is to take care of yourself and that includes your skin. I like to keep my routines simple though, otherwise I simply can’t be arsed to get them done. That’s why today I thought I would share three simple products that has made my skin care routine much easier.

Now there are two products in here that are both from The Body Shop and the reason for that is that The Body Shop recently started a product line of tea tree oil products. Tea tree oil, as most of you probably already know, is very effective against acne and other imperfections in the skin and seeing as I have very acne prone skin, it was a good a place to start looking for some decent anti-blemish products.

15I purchased The Body Shop’s “Skin Clearing Clay Mask” and their “Anti-Imperfection Daily Solution” and they have both been working very well for me.
Now, tea tree products can be very harsh so it’s probably not a good fit for you if you have sensitive skin. However, they have been working wonders for me, especially the clay mask, I absolutely love it! I don’t use it that often, only about twice a week maybe even less but it’s been very effective in clearing my pores and because it has menthol in it, it has made me feel very refreshed after using it.
The anti-blemish serum has also been quite nice though I would probably prefer a simple tea tree oil instead. So far though, it’s been cheaper to get the serum (I think it was £13? for the entire bottle) and it seems to do the exact same thing. So I’m happy with it!

2.jpgThe last product is from ORIGINS and it’s their “Energy Boosting Gel Moisturizer”. I originally bought this because of a recommendation from my sister and it’s a very nice moisturizer. It smells like oranges which I LOVE but I have to admit, I’m a little conflicted writing this because I saw that The Body Shop has a very similar product that is cheaper than the £35 I gave for the gel moisturizer. I haven’t tested it though so I can’t say which is better but I’ve really been enjoying my ORIGINS one. It’s very light on the skin and incredibly hydrating. Which, let’s admit it, is all we want at the end of the day.

I know what you mean, I also have acne-prone skin. Looking forward to giving these products a try, and I’m glad they’re doing wonders for your skin!

This is really awesome information. I really want to take better care of my skin but I haven’t the faintest idea where to start. These seem like awesome products though! How did you find out about things like your skin type and what products worked? Was it a lot of trial and error or did you talk to a professional? I’m curious because I don’t really know how to go about taking care of my skin and would like to start.

Mostly trial and error but also a lot of reading blog posts kind of like this one haha. It’s a long journey but we’ll get there in the end I hope! Good luck!

I used to use another brands tea tree oil but it didn’t quite work out for me! Maybe it was the brands fault but it irritated my skin. I’ve used homemade apricot oil for a while and it was working wonders but one day it started to give me acnes out of nowhere :/ im using a simple moisturizer nowadays and I don’t really know if I’ll get more into skin care hahaha I really should tho, thanks for reminding me that 😀

i’m definitely gonna pick these up next time i go shopping! i’ve been looking for something to help me with my acne issues so hopefully tea tree oil is the answer! 🙂

Ok you are going to think i am crazy but hear me out. My skin is very oily and every product i have ever tried dry out my skin to the extreme just prompting my skin to become even more oily. So it got me thinking how what is our skin used to? What is natural and cheap enough for a poor teacher to afford? Here comes the crazy part. . . Sand. Beach sand with a tiny bit of glycerine mixed to make a face scrub. I swear i have never had clearer skin! Only break out when i ‘forget’ to wash my face before bed 😛

I love me a simple skin-care routine as well! If you don’t mind me asking, is there a cleanser/makeup remover you use that you would recommend? I’m using one now, but I’m not entirely happy with it and need suggestions! I never knew tea tree oil was effective for blemishes…I’ll have to give that a try! I’m currently using curology, which has cleared up my skin and helped so much! Such a great company and very affordable!

I just use a standard Nivea make up remover. Nothing fancy there. I do however use cleansing wipes afterwards to get rid of the oil from the make up remover!

I’ll be sure to check these products out when I can! I definitely need the help, so I’m very excited to see how these are!
    Have a great day!

Skin care is so very important! I love using natural products for my skin and experimenting. I have an older sister who suffered really bad acne since she was a teenager (she’ll be 22 next month and she still has scars), and she said that using aloe vera directly from the source has been a major help to her. Natural ingredients can be very good if you know what you’re doing. Especially being a person who hardly wears make-up, I find skin care extremely important. Thank you for sharing! This will definitely come in handy for the future! ^^
